Station Stop 4: Setting Your Channel Goals
Step 1: Write Down a Big, Exciting Goal for Your Channel
- Think about where you want your channel to be in 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year.
- Example:
“I want to reach 1,000 subscribers in the next 3 months.”
“I want my videos to get at least 10,000 views per month.”
“I want to earn my first YouTube paycheck within 6 months.”
Step 2: Break Your Big Goal into Smaller, Achievable Steps
- Large goals can feel overwhelming, so divide them into smaller milestones:
Month 1: Get 100 subscribers, post 4 high-quality videos.
Month 2: Increase to 300 subscribers, improve engagement by replying to every comment.
Month 3: Reach 1,000 subscribers and apply for YouTube monetization.
Step 3: Make a Plan for How You’ll Reach Your Goals
- Define your strategy:
Video Type: Will you create tutorials, reviews, or vlogs?
Upload Schedule: How many videos will you post each week?
Promotion Strategy: Will you share your videos on social media, forums, or collaborations?
Audience Engagement: How will you encourage likes, comments, and shares?
Step 4: Track Your Progress & Adjust as Needed
- Use YouTube Analytics to see what’s working and what needs improvement.
- Keep an eye on:
Subscriber growth
Video views & watch time
Engagement (likes, comments, shares)
